System Health Monitor

The System Health Monitor provides a listing of run-time errors generated during processing. Employees listed in this log are not processed by the system until they are reset within the System Health Monitor. A maximum of one error message per employee per process exists.

The information that is displayed on the screen is filtered to limit the number of records that are displayed. From the left pane, select the button to indicate whether to view Diagnostic Messages or Invalid Transaction Posts.

Filtering the System Health Monitor List

The information on the screen can be filtered to limit the number of records that are displayed.

  1. In the Filter Criteria screen, click the down arrow to open the screen and display the available fields.

  2. Enter information in the fields to include only records that meet the criteria. For definitions of the individual fields, click the field and the short help definition is displayed in the right pane.

  3. When all criteria is entered, click on the Filter button.

  4. To clear all the filter criteria fields, click on the Remove Filter button.

If an employee is calculated from the Employee record and an error occurs, the user is given a message and has the option to view the details and reset through the system health monitor.

Note  

Employees can be reset by checking the box to the left of each run time error record, and then clicking on the Reset Selected button in the left pane.

Diagnostic Messages

The Diagnostic Messages screen displays error messages generated as a result of processing.

Filters can be used to limit the number of records that are displayed.

If an employee is calculated from the employee record and an error occurs, the user is given a message and has the option to view the details and reset the employee through the system health monitor.

Category: Filters the list by the type of transaction being processed that generated the message. The options available depend on whether the filter is set to Diagnostic Messages or Invalid Transaction Posts.

Created Date Range Begin: The first date of the range to be included in the filter when searching for transaction errors.

Created Date Range End: The last date of the range to be included in the filter when searching for transaction errors.

Has Been Resubmitted: Filters the list by whether or not the record has been resubmitted for processing (Yes/No).

Host Name: The name of the workstation or server where the process was run, that created this error.

What Happened: The description of the error.

When Created: The date and time when the process was run, which created this error.

Invalid Transaction Posts

The Invalid Transaction Posts displays error messages generated as a result of transactions being posted.

Filters can be used to limit the number of records that are displayed.

If an employee is calculated from the employee record and an error occurs, the user is given a message and has the option to view the details and reset the employee through the system health monitor.

Pending Calculations

The Pending Calculations button opens a screen to view employee records that are in the queue to be calculated.

Filters can be used to limit the number of records that are displayed.

Category: Filters the list by the type of transaction being processed that generated the message. The options available depend on whether the filter is set to Diagnostic Messages or Invalid Transaction Posts.

First Name: Employee's first name to use for the record search.

Last Name: Employee's last name to use for the record search.

Organization Unit: Organization unit for which all employees are included in the record search.

Refresh by Minutes: The number of minutes between automatic updating of the information on the Pending Calculations screen.

When Submitted Date Range Begin: Earliest date for submitted calculations to include in the record search.

When Submitted Date Range End: Latest date for submitted calculations to include in the record search.
